How to install your marks key cylinder into your mark’s lock set A common issue comes from the screws and pins that stick into the key cylinder installation hole. If the screws are too far in then the key cylinder will not be able to be screwed in properly. You try to force it the pin will strip the threads on the key cylinder. The first thing you should do is back the screw out of the lock set by unscrewing it slightly. This will get rid of the block and allow the key cylinder to be able to thread into the lock set. Insert the key fully and test to make sure the lock set works properly. Use the other key cylinder and trim ring that is provided to test the other side as well before installation.

Replace cylinder lock

All cylinder door locks have the similar  profile. Hence you don’t want to worry about  purchasing the wrong shape change.  Few cylinders locks have a lock key slot hole on  each side. Others have a lock key slot on the  outside and a thumb gets turn on the inside.  They also come in different  different finishes  involving chrome and brass plate. Measurements

So you’ll want to  measure your current lock to know what  length. You’ll want to do this unlock the  door and simply locate the center screw. The  measurements that you want to take are  from the exactly middle of the center screw hole  to the right face end of the door lock on each side.  You can do this without needing to  remove the present lock now. Fit the deadlock to the home door 200 mil above the current handle. To do that, drill a 54-mil hole in the face of the home door and make a 25-mil hole in the edge. Mark a line 200 mil from the center of the present door handle and square that line around the home door and mark across the door edge and continue the line on the back face of the home door. A lock bolt is available in either 60-mil or 70-mil back set.

In this condition select a 60-mil back set to perfect match the center of the current  knob on the door. To do this use a paper template given with the lockset which has the 60mm back set just mark on the template. Place that paper template correctly on the door, mark the center line of the template up with your center line mark on the home door and on the exact face mark the center point at 60 mil. And repeat the same action on the anther side of the home door.

Face plate

To drill a 54-mil circle through the home door, drill first on 1 side and then the another. Don’t just drill from 1 side and will have an ugly breakout or break through. And before drilling the hole, don’t forget to place on your personal protection tools. Here’s a 25-mil spade bit to drill an intersecting hole in the edge of the home door. Next, mark the edge of the faceplate hence that you can home it in the door.

Now, chisel out the housing to the in depth of the faceplate and just chisel around the perimeter first. Draw fit the faceplate to the home door and if important chisel out a little more hence you can get a great flush fit. Once it’s flush, just mark the center point of the hole hence  it’s simple to start the screw in the right position. To fit the outside lock body, to the outside of the home door and don’t forget the inside is the one with the screws. Fit it up tighten and close up your screws.

Strike plate

It is essential to fix the strike plate in the right position to engage the bolt. To do that, will just measure from the back side of the door to the outer face of the bolt and transfer that all dimension to the home door jamb. Ensure the absolutely correct vertical position of the strike plate, transfer the all center line dimension to the jamb. Transfer the all horizontal mark to the jam of the home door and again measure the set back dimension that just measured earlier and position the strike plate on the center of that mark and scribe the perimeter of the strike plate. Now home out that rectangle to correctly fit the strike plate flush onto the face of the jam.

Mark screw holes

Test the strike plate for fit into the housing or not and that fits perfectly. Mark the screw hole at the top side, at the bottom side and again mark the rectangle of the check out for the home door bolt. Just mark the one center point for the screws with the top tip of your spade bit so that the screws will start perfectly and then just rough out the center of the cut out for the bolt with the spade bit and now square it off with a chisel. Now screw the strike plate tightly to the jamb fitting it into the housing, driving it in not totally. Fit the second one into its position and drive it house and then again go back and finish the first

To open this lock you will require a flathead screwdriver, couple the test panel which is mine up okay always remove the not from the end the headpiece okay.
